JOB-FAQ
Toronto, Ontario
Ask the affiliation question first.
If you arrived from a search or from an advertisement, start here. I will not bury the only answer that matters under lift trivia.
- Are you affiliated with the attraction operator?
- No. Toronto Tower Ticket Guide is an independent planning guide. It is not affiliated with any attraction operator. We do not sell tickets and never process payments. I am a retired maintenance engineer with a P.O. box and a set of notes. I do not speak for the operator. I do not staff the gate.
- Do you sell tickets or process payments?
- No. We do not sell tickets and never process payments. There is no cart on this guide. If a creative implied otherwise, it was wrong. Use the operator if you want a timed slot. Use these pages if you want to know whether the slot matches the sky.
- I came from an advertisement. Is this a ticket shop?
- If you came from an advertisement, this is still an independent planning guide. Still not the operator. Still no checkout. The advertisement may have been a planning prompt. It was not a box office. Privacy specifics for ad traffic are on the Privacy page, in the section with that heading.
- How fast are the lifts?
- About fifty-eight seconds from lobby to the main observation deck when the plant is behaving. Queues are people, not cable. See The Machine.
- Does the tower move?
- Yes. Wind sway is designed in. You may notice it more in the top pod. That is not a failure.
- How thick is the glass floor?
- On the order of two and a half inches of laminated glass, in plies, in a steel frame. It holds a crowd. It does not invent a view on a haze day. It also has a queue.
- Main deck or top pod?
- Main deck first, always. The top pod is extra height for a clean horizon. Low cloud makes the extra a donation. Rules of thumb are on The Decks.
- What is the harness walk outside?
- A harnessed walk on the exterior of the main pod, weather permitting, with a briefing. I will not use a product name. It is slower than people think and it is the first thing wind cancels.
- Is the restaurant worth it?
- The revolving restaurant is expensive. If the meal is the point of the day, plan it as the point. If you wanted a view with a sandwich, eat elsewhere. I am not a reviewer. I am telling you the bill will not surprise only the operator.
- How long from Union Station?
- Fifteen to twenty minutes at a city walk, more with ice or a stroller. Details on Plan Half A Day.
